Under a labour hire arrangement Workforce Extensions provides individual workers to your company and we take responsibility for all elements of the worker’s remuneration. Workers may be provided on a casual, part time, full time or on-going basis as either temporary or relief workers to augment staff during periods of peak or seasonal demand, as specialist staff or on a more permanent basis following the outsourcing of part of a business. Under these arrangements, Workforce Extensions will recruit, select and induct suitable staff and retain these staff as employees, on-hired to your business. Workforce Extensions pays all wages and entitlements, superannuation, payroll tax, workers compensation insurance and PAYG withholding. An hourly rate of hire is invoiced to your business on the basis of hours paid to the employee from a duly authorised timesheet. Our hourly rates of hire are based on the casual wage rates under the appropriate industrial instrument and are inclusive of all other statutory overheads including superannuation, workers compensation and payroll tax (where applicable). All wage rates are inclusive of casual loadings and holiday loadings (where applicable) in accordance with the provisions of the industrial instrument. Any applicable allowances are charged at cost. Under these arrangements the employees are on-hired to your company and are not classified as sub-contractors. On-hired staffing offers many potential benefits for companies across all industries including access to a totally scaleable workforce with one phone call. A quality pool of skilled candidates is available to cope with:
- Projects of limited duration.
- Production fluctuations.
- Periods of seasonal demand.
- Increased work pace to meet deadlines.
- Reduced downtime during planned and unpredicted staff absence (as a pool of quality candidates is always available).
On-hired staffing support allows you to:
- Simplify your operation and increase your businesses efficiency.
- Focus on your core business, whilst leaving the task of recruitment, screening, selection, induction, staff management, payroll and administration to a team of human resources professionals.
- Reduce direct and indirect recruitment and employment costs.
- Better understand the true cost of recruitment and staff management and to be more productive and add more value with their own time.
Whilst it is widely accepted that the use of on-hired staffing streamlines the cost of advertising, payroll, insurance and personal protective equipment, few consider the potential savings in:
- Cost of staff time to manage candidate attraction, position enquiries, candidate vetting, selection, background checking and assessment.
- Cost of staff time to process payroll, pay wages and entitlements, pay payroll liabilities and manage employee records.
- Cost of lost opportunity whilst focusing attention away from core business.
- Risk of significant costs on separation, including the giving of notice and exposure to unfair dismissal risk.
- Access to a human resources department on demand.
Many businesses cannot justify the cost of maintaining a dedicated human resources officer or human resources department. On-hired agencies can be your on-hand professionals providing sophisticated staffing solutions while keeping those staffing problems off your desk. By using an on-hired staffing agency your business will have instant access to a team of human resources professionals with a depth of experience in recruitment, industrial relations, payroll, occupational health and safety, performance management and administration as well as a range of innovative recruitment sources and a tried and tested suite of value added selection tools.
Permanent Recruitment Services
Workforce Extensions provides a quality, value added permanent executive, professional, technical and trades recruitment service to suit every client from small businesses through to large global organisations. Our service is tailored to meet the needs of your company and the requirements of your vacancy. In today’s highly competitive employment market there are strong reasons for using an effective recruitment consultancy using proven methods. Many employers are confident they can source their own candidates, and spend a lot of time sifting through resumes, calling people they know and trying to match the ideals they have for the position. In reality, using a consultancy immediately taps you into a source of people who have the right skills and attitude and who are on the job market. We develop long-term relationships with companies for whom we recruit and take the time to build personal relationships so that when you need to recruit, we can move faster. We always develop a clear understanding of your organisation and its requirements. Prior to recruitment, Workforce Extensions undertakes position profiling and comprehensive recruitment planning to ensure that we, as recruiters, understand your businesses needs, the requirements of the position and the requirements of the successful applicant. We can help you determine what sort of person you are looking for and can help to identify and detail the requirements of the position and the characteristics that you are looking for in a candidate.
Assessment And Testing Services
Workforce Extensions has recently announced a partnership with The Rogers Group to deliver a tailored system of assessment tools to businesses in the New England, North West and the Hunter Valley. The McQuaig System and TRG Plus Matrix are innovative psychometric appraisal systems and services aimed at improving recruitment, reducing staff turnover, enhancing sales and developing motivated employees. The McQuaig System provides employers with the tools to select people who fit into the company’s culture and to manage them in a way that ensures that they reach their maximum potential. TRG Plus Matrix offers assessments ranging from skills and abilities such as numerical, verbal and abstract reasoning through aptitudes such as mechanical reasoning; hand to eye coordination and mental agility, or more personality-based assessments viewing an individual’s temperament, emotional maturity or values. Specialised multi-function tools measuring for example, safety, integrity, emotional maturity and courtesy in one test, are available as high value/low cost bundled assessments. In today’s employment market, traditional hiring methods are becoming increasingly ineffective. It is becoming increasingly difficult to assess candidates, who are often well coached and well groomed, leaving HR Managers to rely on gut feeling when making this important decision. These tools will help local employers select staff who fit in with the company’s culture and develop them in a way which ensures that they receive a sufficient return on investment. Workforce Extensions are also able to carry out pre-employment and on site drug testing. We can also facilitate pre-employment functionality testing and audiometry testing.

Disability Reportable Incidents
“Kathy and Laurie from Workforce Extensions have created professional and trusting relationship by supporting us to find and manage support staff over the past three years. As an Employer in our own small business for over 25 years, I understand there are many obligations under Work Health and Safety for correct policies and procedures and staff training, together different requirements with ATO and Superannuation as well as Regulations and Laws relating to Awards and Industrial relations and the workers compensation arena. They also do checks with federal and state agencies checking records such as Working with Children and National Police checks. This also ensures my loved one is safe. Laurie and Kathy manage this side of support staff employment and management with ease and professionalism. This wonderful partnership has allowed us to be able to support Aaron to engage the highest quality Personal Assistants with similar interests to Aaron who help give and teach him independence. They all support Aaron learning what he can learn and participating in activities he wants to do, at a time that suits him. This is without fear of not meeting the regulatory obligations we have as an employer. Being able to self-manage Aaron’s supports has created an environment where Aaron is becoming the best adult he can be by developing his skills, interests and friendships and meeting his potential in our community. As an adult with significant intellectual disability Aaron has flourished while being supported by the staff engaged through Workforce Extensions. Aaron’s team are of the highest quality, some with and without disability support experience who all provide educational, caring and life skills development. My son is having the best life he can have with the support he needs provided by people he likes being with at a time that best suits him. If additional staff are required, it is as simple as contacting Kathy and asking her to assist us in finding someone with the skill or interest Aaron shares or needs at the time. Aaron is always part of the interview process and once selected, the new person is then inducted into the ‘A team’ by Kathy and Laurie and given the appropriate training and risk assessment and support action plan. The benefits of self-managing cannot be underestimated and it has opened up a whole new world for Aaron. It has not been difficult and it is not overwhelming. Kathy and Laurie can help every step of the way to make the self-managing experience easy.” – Fiona
